How to reclaim the fervor once lost

Good morning, and Praise the Lord! Today is Thursday Sep. 12, 2024, and we celebrate Autonomos the Martyr.

All Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, forgive us our sins. Master, pardon our transgressions. Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for your name’s sake.

John 11:47-54

Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, present everywhere and filling all things. Treasury of blessings, and giver of life, come and abide in us. Cleanse us from every stain, and save our souls gracious Lord.

When the soul betrays itself and loses the blessed and longed for fervor, let it carefully investigate the reason for losing this. And let it arm itself with all longing and zeal against whatever has caused this. For the former fervor can return only through the same door through which it was lost.
